SUMMARY:Planting an Orchard in Diggle Street Park - NEW DATE
DESCRIPTION:Help us create a new orchard for all the community to enjoy!\nCome and help us plant the new orchard over at Diggle Street Park \nPlease note\, new date is 14th Feb  \nThe Orchard Project and The Community Patch CIC have received some funding to make this possible. There will be lots more events and sessions in the future\, including learning all about how to take care of the new orchard. \nThis will be a practical\, hands-on day as we plant the new trees in the ground. Some of the tasks will be quite physical including barrowing woodchip\, digging the ground with spades and using a tool to drive posts in. \nOther tasks will be less physical\, including placing the trees in their new homes and creating a map. Please come along for the enjoyment of coming together with the community\, even if you’re not planting the trees! And feel free to ask us any questions. \nPlease dress appropriately for the weather and wear outdoor shoes. We will provide gloves and all the tools. \nNo previous experience necessary\, as we will talk you through the planting process before we get started. \nWe’ll provide snacks and hot and cold refreshments\, but please bring anything else you may need to be comfortable. \nAll ages welcome\, under 16s will need to attend with an adult\, and there are toilets nearby that will be available to use. \nFor any questions\, please get in touch:\njoe.ford@theorchardproject.org.uk\, or hello@giveitagrowwigan.co.uk

DESCRIPTION:Please join us to continue our project in making Diggle Street Park beautiful for people and pollinators.\n\nOn 26th March at 10am\, we’ll start creating our first flower bed in the park\, and we really need your help! This is the first date of a few this coming spring\, and we are so excited to start this work.\n\nWe will be digging out the flower bed and planting a variety of flowers and plants chosen for their resilience\, beauty\, and appeal to birds and insects.\n\nAll tools are provided\, plus refreshments and full guidance.\n\nChildren are welcome with adult supervision.\n\nWe’ve already got seating installed\, planted a native hedgerow\, and\, more recently\, a community orchard with The Orchard Project.\n\nDiggle Street Park\, Springfield\, WN6 7DZ\n\nIf you have any questions\, please email hello@giveitagrowwigan.co.uk\n\nOrganised by The Community Patch CIC\n\nThanks to funding from the Greater Manchester Green Spaces Fund.
