DESCRIPTION:Please join us to continue our project in making Diggle Street Park beautiful for people and pollinators.\n\nOn 28th April at 10am\, we’ll start creating our 2nd flower bed in the park\, and we really need your help!\n\nWe will be digging out the flower bed and planting a variety of flowers and plants chosen for their resilience\, beauty\, and appeal to birds and insects.\n\nAll tools are provided\, plus refreshments and full guidance. If you are staying all day\, bring some lunch! You don’t need to stay the whole time\, or arrive at 10am.\n\nChildren are welcome with adult supervision.\n\nWe’ve already got seating installed\, planted a native hedgerow\, and\, more recently\, a community orchard with The Orchard Project.\n\nDiggle Street Park\, Springfield\, WN6 7DZ\n\nIf you have any questions\, please email hello@giveitagrowwigan.co.uk\n\nOrganised by The Community Patch CIC\n\nThanks to funding from the Greater Manchester Green Spaces Fund.

SUMMARY:Forest Garden Planting in the Park
DESCRIPTION:Come and plant a forest garden with us! \nAs part of our work on Diggle Street Park\, which includes the new community orchard and flower beds\,  the next job is underplanting the fruit trees. And we really need your help! \nJoin us to learn which plants work together to increase biodiversity in our garden\, ensuring a good variety of fruits\, nuts\, and wildlife. The forest garden planting will attract pollinators\, which in turn will support healthier\, more productive orchard trees. \nJoin us on 14th May\, 10am – 2pm. \nWe’ll use different techniques to plant (much less digging!)\, which don’t require you to have any previous skill or knowledge- just bring your enthusiasm. \nAll tools and refreshments are provided; children are welcome but must be accompanied by adults. \nPlease wear sensible footwear and clothes you’re happy to get muddy. \nWe’re working with The Orchard Project as part of the latest round of GMET funding to improve the park. \n

DESCRIPTION:Our next Sunday session is also our annual plant swap! If you have sown too many seeds this year or just have plants that you’ve fallen out of love with\, bring them along and grab some new ones.\n\nWe host this each year\, and it’s always a great event with so many interesting plants. We love seeing what people bring along and there’s usually plenty to share\nWe can help divide or provide pots for split plants\, etc. We have spare compost\, etc.\, if needed.\n\nWe also have plants and seeds here to offer out\, so you can just pop along for af ree plant too\, even if you have nothing to share.\n\nIt’s always super family-friendly and free to attend.
