This is a perfect way to add a touch of seasonal charm to your home. \nAll materials\, tools and full guidance are supplied. \nWhat’s included:\n\nA range of beautiful decoupage tissues and paint to choose from\n3 high quality cardboard pumpkins to decorate and take home\nFull guidance & tools\n\nThere will also be a full bar with a range of drinks available during the session\, including soft drinks. \nVenue\nThe Barkley Tavern\, 210 Woodhouse Lane\, Wigan\, WN6 7NF \nTickets\nTickets are just £3 thanks to funding. DESCRIPTION:Come and celebrate Halloween and the autumn season with us on Wednesday 22nd October at 5:30pm in the community garden. \nThis family-friendly evening will be full of autumn magic – with pumpkin carving\, a warming homemade soup\, and folk stories and songs around the campfire. The party will be held at our beautiful community garden in Beech Hill\, so remember to wrap up warm and dress for the weather. \nIt’s the perfect way to spend the season together\, creative\, cosy\, and a little spooky. \nThe event is free\, but booking is essential to make sure we have enough pumpkins and soup for everyone. The walk is approximately 2 miles along with some uneven paths\, and is free to attend. \nFrom Nov\, it will be the 4th Friday of each month at 10am. DESCRIPTION:Our free monthly guided woodland walk – Step Into Nature. Please note the date has changed due to it landing on boxing day (this is December’s walk!) \nThe next walk together is on 2nd Jan\, 10am at Beech Hill Park\, Gidlow Lane\, WN6 8RQ  and will be led by Victoria – we’ll gently enjoy the sights and sounds of these beautiful woodlands and farmland through the seasons. \nStarting in Beech Hill this month\, we’ll explore local woodlands\, a perfect way to get outdoors\, meet new friends\, and discover hidden corners of our local green spaces. The walk is approximately 2 miles along with some uneven paths and steps\, and is free to attend. \nIt is muddy\, and we don’t mind a bit of rain\, so dress for the weather! Wellies recomended \nIt will usually be the 4th Friday of each month at 10am. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun workshop all about how we can help care for British wildlife during these cold winter months.  On 27th Jan at St Anne’s Community Centre\, in Beech Hill\, Wigan\, Victoria and Ali will be leading this hands-on workshop\, where we’ll look at everyday animals such as birds\, hedgehogs\, and more\, as well as the littlest creatures like insects. Together\, we’ll explore their habitats and needs during winter and share ways we can help support them. \n  \nRecommended age is 8+ (children must be accompanied)\, it’s suitable for families and adults who are interested in learning more. SUMMARY:Gardening Together
DESCRIPTION:Join us in the community garden every other Wednesday morning\, 10am – 12pm\, for some company and gentle movement in the outdoors. \nAt the community garden\, we tend to several raised beds\, borders\, a greenhouse\, fruit trees\, and a wildlife pond together. We grow all kinds of fruit and veg\, and there is often produce or plants to take home at the end of a session. \nThere are always plenty of different jobs to do and things to learn. Anyone is welcome to attend – just show up\, there’s no need to book\, and no skills are required as all training and tools are provided. \nChildren are always welcome. We’ve got garden toys and always invite young people to join in with planting and garden jobs if they want. \nPlease dress for the weather – sessions always go ahead unless it’s pouring with rain. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Family Litter Pick at Beech Hill Park\, Gidlow Lane\, on Sunday 8th February – starting at 11am and help care for this local green space. \nThis is a fun\, family-friendly event where everyone can get involved in making a positive difference. \nThere will also be a prize for the group or family that collects the most litter! A £40 voucher for Omniplex Cinema! \nAll litter picking equipment will be provided\, so just dress for the weather. \nWe will also have refreshments available. \nAccompanied children are very welcome\, and it is a great way to show young people how small actions can have a big impact on the local environment. \nYou can keep the equipment afterwards to continue the good work \nThis event is funded by the National Lottery as part of a year-long programme of family environmental events in Wigan Borough\, helping us support community action and care for local green spaces.\nEvent organised and facilitated by The Community Patch CIC \nBeech Hill Park\, Gidlow Lane\, Wigan\, WN6 8RQ \nAny questions\, please email us on hello@giveitagrowwigan.co.uk

DESCRIPTION:Join Victoria on 12th Feb at The Barkeley Tavern and get creative with this relaxed nature-inspired collage workshop. Using a mix of natural materials\, found textures\, paper and imagery\, you will create a layered collage inspired by the seasons. \nSharing her love of art and collage\, Victoria will guide you through this session – it’s about having a go and experimenting rather than perfection. It is suitable for beginners and anyone wanting some mindful creative time in a welcoming space. SUMMARY:Planting an Orchard in Diggle Street Park - NEW DATE
DESCRIPTION:Help us create a new orchard for all the community to enjoy!\nCome and help us plant the new orchard over at Diggle Street Park \nPlease note\, new date is 14th Feb  \nThe Orchard Project and The Community Patch CIC have received some funding to make this possible. There will be lots more events and sessions in the future\, including learning all about how to take care of the new orchard. \nThis will be a practical\, hands-on day as we plant the new trees in the ground. Some of the tasks will be quite physical including barrowing woodchip\, digging the ground with spades and using a tool to drive posts in. \nOther tasks will be less physical\, including placing the trees in their new homes and creating a map. Please come along for the enjoyment of coming together with the community\, even if you’re not planting the trees! And feel free to ask us any questions. \nPlease dress appropriately for the weather and wear outdoor shoes.
