Give it a Grow Wigan & The Community Patch CIC

These are exciting times. This summer 2025, we introduced The Community Patch CIC!

This is a way for us to fully expand on the work we’ve been building for 4+ years. We often receive so many messages and ideas and we can’t always take on projects, now this should allow us to do more of what we love, and what we can see is needed in the community. The CIC will allow us to take on more and access more funding.

The GIAG group will still run the same, and the CIC is still just us 4: Victoria, Ali, Dawn & Michelle. This has been a little nerve-wracking to take the leap, and we’re so grateful for the support everyone has shown.

You may have noticed we’ve recently updated the name on social media and will mostly use The Community Patch as the broader name, as it more accurately reflects our other activities outside the community garden such as all the workshops and many events we’ve been doing and working on other green spaces.

Ideally, we’d like to change the website and email addresses too – but we need to raise some funds to do that, so we’re living between 2 names at the moment. As that’s a big job
